This committee searches to recognize individuals who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the Business Community. This awards ceremony showcases our city’s business achievements and excellence. The goal is to promote the event, solicit nominations and determine the recipients.
Committee Expectations:
- Create an opportunity to honor our Business Leaders in the
Community.
- Create added value for sponsors, contributors and participants beyond the actual event.
- Attract new Chamber members as a result of committee contacts.
- Sell event tickets.

The annual Maryland Heights Chamber of Commerce golf tournament is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year. Thanks to the works of countless volunteers and sponsors, this event continues to be a huge success in raising money for the chamber and the Education Foundation. The Education Foundation provides college scholarships to local high school students.
Committee Expectations:
- Sell sponsorships/teams.
- Make solicitation calls for donations for the auction.
- Create added value for sponsors, contributors, and participants through improved communications and information dissemination.
- Attract new Chamber members.

This Committee is charged with identifying, investigating and reporting on legislative issues which may impact Chamber members and businesses in the Maryland Heights area. In addition, the Committee facilitates interaction with federal, state and local elected officials and representatives for the purpose of exchanging information on issues of importance to Chamber members. In the past the Committee has hosted a “Community Engagement Reception” for area officials and business leaders in the City of Maryland Heights.
Committee Expectations:
- Provide added value to Members and become more involved in the Community.
- Help Identify Key Issues Affecting Business Community.
- Create influence with City Hall and encourage City involvement with the Chamber of Commerce.
- Keeping abreast of governmental concerns, possibly attending City Council/Zoning & Planning meetings.
- Attract and retain businesses in Maryland Heights - Take Leadership on specific issues.

The goals of the Membership Committees are to: add a minimum of 120 new members by year end and achieve 85% retention, strengthen membership through relationship building and personal contact, emphasizing incorporation of new members into the organization through mentoring with existing members, promote the benefits of membership, enlisting new members in the Maryland Heights area through continuous, year-long contacts and an annual membership campaign, create added value for Chamber members through improved visibility and forums for member-to-member interaction, sponsor monthly New Member Receptions to welcome new members and acquaint them with the Chamber’s programs and services and encourage their participation through committee sign ups, increase the involvement of the Board of Directors in membership retention and involve all committees with attracting new members.

- Promote the benefits of membership, enlisting new members in the Maryland Heights area
through continuous, year-long contacts and an annual membership campaign Contribute to Membership Retention by making event and renewal calls.
- Strengthen membership through relationship building and personal contact, emphasizing incorporation of new members into the organization through mentoring with existing members.
- Create added value for Chamber members through improved visibility and forums for member-to-member interaction.

The goal of this Committee is to identify charitable causes and organizations that could benefit from Chamber assistance, promote the causes of member charitable organizations to the membership and community and create revenue generating programs that will directly fund charitable programs.
Committee Expectations:
- To continue and look at new ways of creating partnerships with member school districts and/or private schools.
- Develop and implement methods to secure additional funding for the Scholarship Program.
- Continue to review and update as needed the process and application for the Chamber Scholarship program.
- Select the scholarship candidates and seek our additional partners for innovative grant programs.
- Identify charitable causes and organizations that could benefit from Chamber assistance.
- Promote the causes of member charitable organizations to the membership and community.
- Create revenue-generating programs that will directly fund charitable programs.

Increase member attendance at luncheons by providing extremely interesting speakers/programs, define and implement vehicles to raise dollars for the education fund, plan and implement a series of seminar programs benefiting Chamber members and at no cost to the Chamber.

The Trivia Night is a fun way to get involved and network with fellow professionals, friends, and family in a relaxed environment. The trivia committee assists in planning of the event, making calls for donations as well as follow up phone calls, sending letters, selling tables, and assisting the day of the event.

The Business Expo is a great opportunity for businesses to showcase their company, look for potential hires, or network with one another. The Business Expo Committee is responsible for planning, preparing and executing the event. This includes publicizing the event, sale of booths, and overseeing of the event on the event day.

This committee will plan the entire event from setup to breakdown. There are subcommittees including marketing, finance, setup, volunteers and radio media. This is a great way to out your ideas to work and be a part of one of the largest fundraisers!
