St. Louis, MO (January 26, 2023) – Loaves and Fishes for St. Louis celebrated a milestone on January 13, 2023 – 41 years of serving St. Louis County. On January 13, 1982, Loaves and Fishes officially received their nonprofit status to serve as a men’s shelter and community food pantry. What began with a man looking for food and shelter blossomed into today’s values and mission with three (3) programs:

–       Family Shelter – A housing focused program that provides temporary housing to families (single parent or two parent) with minor children. Our clients work with the shelter staff to receive life skill education classes and other resources to achieve the success to which they are searching. Clients must be referred through Housing Plus 211 Helpline.

–       Outreach and Prevention Services – Much needed program to assist those who may be at risk of being evicted, or have utilities turned off. Client vetting process required.

–       Food Pantry – Operates 5 days a week. The Food Pantry provides low-income families with the necessary grocery items that are nutritious and delicious. Clients have biweekly scheduled appointments.

Join us as we continue to serve the community for many more years through our 41 Years of Service campaign. Where donors can donate $41, $141, $241, or $541. https://loavesandfishes-stl.kindful.com/

All proceeds raised stay local to support the programs of Loaves and Fishes for St. Louis, because we all deserve a home.

The mission of Loaves and Fishes for St. Louis is to provide uplifting and supportive services that empower our clients to be financially secure and have a stable home.

Our vision is to see families stably housed with a robust support system to ensure longer term stability and hope for a better tomorrow.
